Hellenic Professionals Informatics Society (HePIS)
HePIS was founded in 2006 with a vision to help the Greek population to make full use of the potential of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), aiming at its professional and social advancement. HePIS’ mission is to highlight the role of ICT as a strategic axis for growth and prosperity in the global competitive environment. As a member of the Professional Council of Information Associations (CEPIS), European Women and Technology Centre, and Telecentre Europe, by actively taking part in the initiatives and policies of the European Commission HePIS is at the forefront of international developments. Today we represent more than 3,500 members, ICT professionals and students, while 25,000 people have already participated in our projects, aimed at developing digital and social skills. With core values such as those of collegiality, openness and social sensitivity, we implement actions that:
- Contribute to bridging the gap between supply and demand in the ICT sector effectively by training the workforce with the right skills, and by such, helping the industry evolve.
- Ensure ICT access for all
- Highlight the need for equal participation of women in ICT, and ensure unhindered professional development.
- Mobilise all the forces in the Information and Communications Market, as well as State bodies, in order to contribute to Greece's economic growth with the reduction of unemployment and the elimination of social exclusion.
We focus on the efficiency of our operations by staying true to our members, partners, and sponsors.
