On 5-7 December 2017, Centre of Technical Culture Rijeka (CTC Rijeka) hosted in Rijeka, Croatia, the third BRIGHTS project meeting and the training of the BRIGHTS MOOC national tutors from all the project partner organisations.
Jasper Pollet, from the Belgian partner organisation Maks vzw, successfully trained the BRIGHTS national tutors on the different steps of the digital storytelling methodology applied to a Global Citizenship Education topic. The participants were very enthusiastic by the workshop and this experience turned out to be much more than just a training: the story circle methodology, in particular, was a great moment of sharing and collaboration.
The training gave BRIGHTS national tutors the chance to better understand and first-hand experience the project methodology in order to be ready for the BRIGHTS MOOC piloting phase. During the MOOC they will support secondary school teachers and trainers working with young people aged 13-19 coming from the four project countries (Belgium, Italy, Croatia and Greece) in learning how to implement Global Citizenship Education through the use of digital storytelling with their pupils both in formal and non-formal educational contexts.
The duration of the BRIGHTS MOOC will be 4 weeks with a total of 20 hours of learning. Each week provides training on a specific module and requires approximately 5 hours of study. At the completion of the course participants will receive a certificate of attendance. The MOOC is free of charge. It will be delivered soon to participants from Belgium, Italy, Croatia and Greece, in Dutch, Italian, Croatian, Greek.
