On May 26th 2017, the staff from Università degli Studi Guglielmo Marconi, in cooperation with Centro the Studi Città di Foligno, organised the event entitled “Il Progetto BRIGHTS: una metodologia innovativa per promuovere l’Educazione alla Cittadinanza Globale“ (The BRIGHTS Project: an innovative methodology to promote Global Citizenship Education) to introduce the BRIGHTS project by focusing on its pillars, Global Citizenship Education and Digital storytelling.
The event, held at Università degli Studi Guglielmo Marconi premises, was arranged in a period of growing interest towards global challenges and was held in parallel to national and international initiatives: the Italian Festival for the Sustainable Development, the European Sustainable Development Week and the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development.
The program combined speeches by researchers directly involved in the project and practitioners engaged in global education issues, thus explaining BRIGHTS’ potential to deal with current topics by using a participatory approach.
The audience, which encompassed secondary schools teachers, trainers and delegates from associations and research institutions, actively participated in the event by asking questions, making comments and telling about their professional experiences and expectations. The attending teachers and trainers expressed their will to benefit from the blended course and to stay connected with the project’s staff and follow all developments.
